Alexandria Board of Selectmen

June 19, 2008

Deliberative Session

Members Present:        Cindy Williams, Don Gangemi, Tom McGowan

There were no minutes distributed or approved.

Signature Items:

Intents to cut were signed for Society for Protection of NH Forest, Thomas Crouse, Stephen Bleiler and Dillon Investments.

The selectmen signed a deed to accept Crouse Road.  This had been voted on by town meeting some years ago, but the deed never materialized.

Abatements for Dennis Fitton, Jason Cazeault, William Russell, John Doherty, John Putorek and Carol
Panaggio.  Supplemental warrant for Panaggio, Rusell and Doherty were signed.

A reservation form for the recyclemobile was signed
The appointment form for Dennis Manchester to be Deputy Fire Warden was signed by the selectmen.
A Personnel Action Request was signed for an officer and an animal control person for the police department.

The selectmen authorized the historical study that is needed for the Washburn Bridge.

Old Business:

Items are ongoing and should be scheduled for discussion at work sessions to take place before
            each deliberative session.

New Business:

The selectmen approved the MD&A for the audit report. Christie will send it to the auditor for
            review.

The selectmen approved an animal transport fee of $25 should an animal need to be taken to the
NH Humane Society.  The  NH Humane Society will keep track of the money they collect when
people pick up their animals and will issue a check once a month to the town for any fees collected.
The selectmen determined that they do not want to change the numbering system at the Ledges.  The
post office had made the inquiry because all the condominiums are listed at 955 West Shore Rd.  The
selectmen said that mail is dropped off at a central location and shouldn’t be a problem.
Tire Day had come and gone and Doug suggests that it not be repeated. Instead, he suggested giving out
coupons for four tires.  This can be done when the dump sticker is issued for the year.
The holding cell toilet/sink was determined to need hot water as well as cold.  Andy & Sons has been
awarded the contract.
Cindy questioned holiday pay that was given to one of the employees who is part time. The personnel
policy states that part-time employees are granted holiday pay at a rate of the same number of hours they would have been regularly scheduled on that day.

Christie brought up the fact that she has been asked about having the dump open on Sundays again.
This will be discussed at the July 3 meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Christie Phelps, Town Administrator
