Department Heads:
Christie: Christie will be meeting with Paul Hatch of the Office of Emergency
Management tomorrow in order to finalize the Emergency Management
Plan for the town. He will also bring the paperwork for the Washburn
Road Hazard Mitigation Grant. Christie is working on tying out numbers
to the tax collector’s MS-61 in advance of the auditor’s visit. Interviews
will be held next Tuesday for the transfer station position. A
recommendation will be presented to the selectmen that evening. Thayer
Corporation came in to look at a problem with the heating system and said
that the three fresh air dampers need replacing. They will provide an
estimate of cost. A work session is necessary in order to formulate the
budget to be presented at a public hearing on February 3. The state is
working with their fuel supplier to obtain a $2.09/gallon cap for the next
18 months. This would help our police department fuel costs. It has been
suggested that an e-mail user group be formed to keep people up to date.
A notice will be put in the newsletter asking residents to sign up if they are
interested.
