The meeting came to order at 6:00 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was given.

 

Approval of M= inutes:

   &nbs= p;        The minutes of Septe= mber 20, 2005 were approved as presented.

Distribution = of Minutes:

   &nbs= p;        The minutes of Septe= mber 27, 2005 were distributed for review.

Public Input:=

Bonnie O’Brien:  Felt that the selectmen should hav= e let the public know that the police chief was planning to go to Louisiana.  Barry Walker stated that he hadn&#= 8217;t felt it necessary to make that announcement at a selectmen’s meeting.=

Department He= ads:

Bill Bucklin:  Brook Road: Bill has a meeting with a representa= tive of NHDES this Thursday at 10= :00 a.m.; he would like at least one selectman there as well.  Peg said that she could attend. 

Gale Road: Peg said she could meet with Bill and the NHDOT engineer at 2:00 p.m. that day at Gale Road. Barry asked that any recommendations from the engineer be put in writing.

Berry Road:  The grinding will take place on Wednesday morning.

Loader:  Still in = the yard; Bob asked Bill to be prepared to give his recommendation on repairs, leasing, etc. to the selectmen next week.

Jeff Musheno:  Not= in attendance

Christie Phelps:  = Office will be open from 8:30-12:30= this Friday and next Monday.  = Peg will be covering those hours while Christie is out of town.

Committee Rep= orts:

Planning Board:  Meeting tomorrow night.  The recommendations from the plann= ing board will be discussed when Maggie LaBerge is able to attend the selectmen’s meeting.

Building Committee:  The selectmen and the building com= mittee members met with Bonnette, Page and Stone earlier this evening.  That completes interviews with all potential contractors for the proposed office building. The selectmen will = be making a decision by next week on how to proceed with the project. 

Budget Commit= tee:

   &nbs= p;        Met last week with Cemetery Trustees and Trustees of Trust Funds

Master Plan C= ommittee: 

Bonnie O’Brien report= ed that a representative from LRPC was present

at the meeting and gave them some good direction on how to go forward with the mas= ter plan.

Land Use, Bui= lding Permits, Purchase Orders:

   &nbs= p;        Building Permits were signed for Raymond LaFleur, Nancy Kahler and Julia Libby

   &nbs= p;        Purchase Orders were signed for H= iltz Construction and Pike Industries

   &nbs= p;        A lien release was signed for wel= fare assistance that had been paid back to the town

   &nbs= p;        A pole license was signed for Ver= izon; the location is Flanders R= oad

Old Business:=

   &nbs= p;        Newsletter: Almost done, Barry ne= eds to contact a few people for updates

   &nbs= p;        Hamel Road: Barry has not completed his review

Zubow Driveway:  A letter was signed by the selectmen outlining the results of last week’= ;s meeting between the selectmen and the road agent. It allows Mr. Zubow’= ;s contractor to work in the road right-of-way for purposes of altering a driv= eway entrance and to allow for the installation of additional culver.  The letter also requires that the contractor slope, seed and hay for stabilization purposes.

New Business:=

   &nbs= p;        The recommendations of the planning board will be held until Maggie LaBerge can=
       &= nbsp;    attend and discuss them.

Public Input<= /b>:

Bonnie O’Brien:  Stated that Carleen Stickney has a= greed to serve on the conservation commission.

David Schwotzer: Was disturbed by some of the comments he read = in the audit. The selectmen let him know that better reconciliation practices = have been begun between the tax collector and the treasurer.

Bob Bacon made a motion to = adjourn at 6:48 p.m.; Pe= g Reilly seconded the motion, and it was approved by a vote of 3-0.
