Alexandria Selectmen’s Meeting

Members Present:     Cindy Williams and Don Gangemi

 

At 4:00 p.m. the selectmen and planning board members met with regard to the Newfound Hills Subdivision (aka Eastman Hill).  This was a posted meeting

 

Work Session:  At 5:00 p.m. the selectmen and planning board met with Bruce Barnard and Mr. & Mrs. Michael Beauregard.  The Beauregard’s are interested in obtaining a building permit on one of the Newfound Hills lots.  Many questions and much discussion were held.  Christie was advised to forward questions to town counsel, which she did immediately through e-mail.  There is more research to be completed before a building permit can be issued.

Approval of Minutes: Tabled until Selectman Reilly is available

 

Department Heads:                No department heads were scheduled as this is the fifth Thursday of the month.

Land Use, Building Permits, Purchase Orders, Other Items Requiring Signature:

 

The selectmen signed the following items:

  1. Purchase Order for highway trucks
  2. Notification to NHDOT that town has appropriated money for Washburn Bridge engineering
  3. Paperwork for a Tan Anticipation Note in the event one is needed
  4. Junkyard license for Boake Morrison
  5. Intent to Excavate for Newport Sand & Gravel
  6. Warrant for Special Town Meeting
  7. Assessing Contract for 5 years with Avitar Associates
  8. Approval for Veteran’s Credit for Alhowik on West Shore Road
  9. Contracts for Cartographic, Humane Society and Bristol Ambulance Service
  10. Purchase Order for Corliss Logging to take down topped trees on Cass Mill Road
  11. Purchase Order for carbide edges for the highway department.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Follow-ups

Old Business: Ongoing

            Cindy asked for the transfer station fees and building permit paperwork to be a part of
            next week’s meeting.

 

New Business:

            The chief requested to change the prosecutorial duties of the town from Robert Libby to the
            Plymouth Court Jurisdictional Association.

 

Public Input:

            Chief Hinkle informed the selectmen that he expects to be $5,000 under the warrant article
            approved at town meeting.
            Maggie LaBerge gave her approval for planning board expenses to be paid with regard to
            attendance at the OEP and LGC workshops.

Bonnie O’Brien said that the conservation commission needs at least three more members and reminded Don Gangemi that he missed the commission’s meeting.

            Merry Ruggirello asked to reserve the town car for April 26 and April 28.

            Frank Hinkle let everyone know that Ernie Parmenter is in the hospital until at least Monday.  They are
            going to amputate one of his toes.
